What
We
Build
IASIA is a software studio working out of Phnom Penh. We design and build the web platforms, mobile apps, and back-end systems that organisations across Cambodia run on — and then we stay to keep them running.
We take a small number of engagements at a time and work in the open. No account managers, no bench being kept warm at your expense, and no handover to a team you have never met.
What
We
Build
A member app for microfinance: balance checks and repayment schedules without the queue at the counter. It reads from an existing core rather than replacing one — usually the cheaper half of the problem, and the half that actually changes someone’s day.
Member Credit — Android and web
Nine branches share one console. The member app writes to the same ledger the counter does, so it never needed a balance table of its own.
Kotlin, Django, Postgres
A storefront for a craft cooperative: sixty sellers managing their own listings, most of them from a phone on a market stall rather than a desk. Checkout is three fields and holds up on a 3G connection. Everything else was left out on purpose.
Craft Market — web and seller tools
Sixty sellers manage their own listings, most of them from a phone on a market stall rather than a desk.
Next.js, Postgres, Stripe
A dispatch board for a fleet operator: twenty-two trucks and around three hundred jobs a month, in place of a whiteboard and a WhatsApp group. Small enough that a whole day fits on one screen, and fast enough to use on a phone at a loading dock.
Dispatch Board — web and dispatcher app
Twenty-two trucks and about three hundred jobs a month — small enough that a whole day fits on one screen, which is the whole design.
Go, Postgres, MapLibre
Three practices, sold separately or together — most engagements begin with one:
Two weeks, fixed price, no commitment beyond it. We sit with the people who will actually use the thing, read whatever system you are running now, and find out where the real cost is hiding.
You end up with a written technical plan, a costed estimate, and the first sketches. Take that document elsewhere and build it there if you want to — it is yours either way.
Interface and data model together, because deciding them separately is how projects get expensive. You see clickable screens in the second week, not a slide deck in the sixth.
Everything is designed against the real content and the real edge cases — the long name, the failed payment, the empty state on day one.
Two-week cycles against a staging environment you can open any day. Tests and deployment automation from the first commit, not retrofitted once the deadline is close.
If something slips, you hear it from us in that week's note rather than discovering it at the end.
We host, monitor, and maintain what we ship, on a monthly retainer that stops whenever you say so. Handover documentation is written as we go, so taking the system in-house is a decision rather than a project.
This is the phase the rest of the work is built to lead into.

Discovery — two weeks, fixed price

Design — screens and data model together

Build — two-week cycles on staging

Operate — hosting, monitoring, handover
We keep a deliberately small set of tools and know them properly. Pick a layer to see what we reach for and why.
One person, one timezone — Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
There is no account manager here and no delivery layer between you and the person building the thing. The person who answers your question is the person who wrote the answer, because there is nobody else for it to be.
One person, one handbook, one timezone. We work in Cambodia and only in Cambodia for now — near enough to sit with a client the same week they ask.

How we work
Phnom Penh
Founder — design and engineering
Everything on this page — the interfaces, the code underneath them, and the hosting they run on — is the work of one person. That is the whole proposition: you talk to whoever is building the thing, and nothing is lost on the way from the brief to the build.
